Getting ready to go. I think.

It's 6:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and I just got a text from Nan telling me that I will be able to fix the broken electronic dog fence before we go away. Thanks, Sweetie, that's good news.

Hadn't really planned on spending my entire afternoon here and cudos to my new associate Eric, who probably hadn't planned on spending his entire Sunday afternoon here either. However, keen to please, he took one for the team and we accomplished lots, though I always feel like there is more to do before going away.

Not helped by the fact that we had friends for dinner last night. The last guests left about 12:45 a.m. so not onerously late but it made it tough to get up this morning to go hit the gym before coming into the office. I still have to pack, wire some lighting on the bike and figure out how we are going to strap a dry bag onto the bike without having it in the way. This is so typical. On the other hand, WE ARE ON HOLIDAYS, so need to start blowing off a little steam so that we can get into holiday mode.

Having said that, I do have a business meeting on Tuesday in Creston and this is what I told our hosts about our Monday departure:

As it currently stands, we are leaving here on Monday to overnight in Field. All things being equal, we will have a leisurely morning that day, maybe drink coffee in bed, cut the grass first thing, take the dogs for a walk and then take our time riding to Field through the Parks. If I am to be punished for some sin committed in an earlier life, I will be here at the office until noon or worse, 2:00 p.m, race home, grab my wife and have a stressful and hurried ride to Field, followed by a large bottle of wine and a headache Tuesday morning.

I can see where this is heading. Hopefully, divorce is not part of that.

Here is a picture of the young nuptials.

That is Nan's nephew, Justin and his bride to be, Katherine. It is their wedding we are going to witness and they have inspired this trip so it seemed only fitting that their picture appear somewhere fairly early on.

O.K. I have tonnes (tons) more to add but I value my life. Hope you enjoy the blog.
